Light face tracking

Widgets that
find your face.

Widgets can follow you instead of sitting in a corner: your conditions ride above your head, your nameplate sits under your chin. Lean out of frame and they slide back to their fixed spots.

LiveOff by default. Every frame works without it.

Face anchor · demo

Light, on purpose

It finds where your face is. That's all.

Vellum uses a small face detector: a box around your face and six points. It doesn't read expressions, it doesn't recognise who you are, and it never changes your stats.

Small

The model is about 230 KB and runs a few milliseconds per frame on a normal CPU.

Smooth

It checks your position about 15 times a second, and widgets glide between checks so they don't jitter.

Idle when unused

If no widget in your frame is anchored to your face, the detector doesn't run at all.

Strictly local

Camera frames never leave your machine.

With tracking on, the Vellum page inside OBS opens your webcam itself, draws it, finds your face and lays the HUD on top, all in one place. The model is served from vellumhud.com with the app, never from a third party, and nothing is sent back.

Setup

One extra step.

OBS has to be started with camera access for browser sources turned on. The app's setup panel spots when it's missing and shows the exact fix for your system.

  1. Start OBS with the camera flag

Launch OBS with --enable-media-stream. The guide has a shortcut per OS.

  2. Use the camera scene

Pick the "Vellum camera" scene, which lets Vellum draw your webcam itself.

  3. Choose a frame with anchors

Frames that use face anchors say so in the picker.
